- It is not fair to take money from current retirees, who sacrificed potential earnings so they could retire with dignity, who have no way to make up the lost income (They are retired!) to fix mistakes they had nothing to do with
- You have a retirement plan, right? How would you feel if once you made it to retirement, suddenly you learned you would have 10% less money than you planned on? Or if changes made by unaffected legislators to fix problems in other plans caused your healthy plan to fail? You think this is reasonable?
- One half of one percent of the recent 14% tax cut for corporations could solve this issue. And allowing bankrupt corporations to skip out on their true pension liabilities is what caused this problem in the first place.
- Retirees and their representatives have already agreed on compromise legislation. Drop this horrible Grassley Alexander pension-killing proposal and support Butch Lewis.
